1st conference of IAPM (Bihar Chapter) was held in 2006 at Patna Medical College, Patna. Dr.Dilip Kumar was organizing secretary for that conference. After that, no conference or CME was organized and IAPM (Bihar Chapter) was virtually dead. On 5th January 2014, Dr. Birendra Prasad from Bihar Sharif had called for a New year lunch meeting. The main agenda was to revive the IAPM Bihar chapter, which had been defunct for many years. The meeting was held in Jai Prakash Garden, Rajgir, and approximately 30 doctors attended it from different parts of Bihar.
Notable attendees included Dr. Prof. R.V.N. Singh; Dr. Prof. S.K. Sahi; Dr. Prabhat Ranjan; Dr. Sujata Mukherjee; and Dr. Sushanto Mukherjee from Patna; Dr. Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaudhary from Darbhanga; Dr. Shashi Bhushan from Begusarai; Dr. Satyender Kumar, Dr. Kumar Sunit, and Dr. Mukesh Kumar from Bhagalpur. Dr. Birendra Prasad, Dr. Pawan Kumar Chaudhary, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Awadhesh Kumar, and others were also present from Bihar Sharif.
During the meeting, Dr. Sushanto Mukherjee was unanimously elected to revive the IAPM and conduct the BAPCON in Rajgir. Dr. Prof. R.V.N. Singh was appointed as President, Dr. Sushanto Mukherjee as Secretary, Dr. Ajay Kumar as Treasurer, and Dr. Prabhat Ranjan as Joint Secretary.

On 15th March 2014, a CME was held at Hotel Maurya, Patna. The subject of the CME was the presence of unethical laboratories in Bihar, operated by either quacks or technicians without qualified pathologists or microbiologists. Dr. Sushanto Mukherjee, as Secretary, with the help of Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, invited all the corporate professionals of Patna to assist in reviving the IAPM Bihar chapter. Retired Justice S.C. Mukherjee and a renowned journalist were the chief guests at the event.
The CME saw attendance from 100+ doctors. Registration was free, and a small exhibition of 6 multinational companies was held at Hotel Maurya. Elaborate media coverage promoted the agenda, which was basically looked after Dr. Prabhat Ranjan. Dr. Birendra Prasad elaborated the menace of ghost pathologists and fake laboratories which was highly appreciated by the chief guests. Dr. Birendra Prasad took the initiative to file a case in High court, Patna with the help of Dr. Ali Muzaffar and Dr. Sushanto Mukherjee.
During the event, the IAPM Bihar chapter presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to six renowned doctors:

Dr. Prof. Jagdeo Sharma (Founder HOD, Microbiology, DMCH, Darbhanga)
Dr. Prof. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Founder HOD, Microbiology, RMCH, Ranchi)
These doctors were recognized for their contributions to hematology, private practice, and as founder HOD of the newly formed separate microbiology department. This was the first time, IAPM Bihar Chapter recognized the icons of Bihar in Pathology and Microbiology.
In July 2014, the second CME under the banner of IAPM Bihar was held at Lemon Tree Hotel, Patna. The topic was "Role of Vitamin D Deficiency and accurate diagnosis by Vidas," and it was sponsored by Biomérieux, France. A General Body Meeting followed, where it was decided that the Revival BAPCON would be held in Rajgir on 8-9th November with a committee comprising of:

As it was a revival, the secretary took initiative and visited Rajgir for a smooth conference. On 8th and 9th November, the BAPCON was successfully held in the Rajgir International Convention center, Rajgir, marking the revival of the IAPM Bihar chapter. The event was attended by over 100 delegates from Bihar, Jharkhand, and other states. Speakers from various states were invited for academic sessions. 35+ stalls were present at the exhibition, with participation from multinational companies. For the first time a colored directory of the majority of pathologists and microbiologists was released.
A grand gala event was held on the night of 8th November, featuring a performance by music director Pritam's band from Kolkata, followed by the BAPCON dinner.
During the General Body Meeting on 9th November, it was decided that IAPM Bihar chapter will have the following committee members in which:

For the first time, the entire event's expenditures were audited by a renowned CA from Patna to ensure full transparency of accounts.
Bihar Association of Pathologists & Microbiologists (BAPM) is the Bihar Chapter of Indian Association of Pathologists & Microbiologists (IAPM). IAPM is a non – commercial professional organization. It was formed in 1949 with the objective of working towards advancement of pathology, microbiology and allied sciences. IAPM is affiliated to International Academy of Pathology (IAP).
In Bihar it was started as IAPM Bihar Chapter in 1988. The first president of IAPM, Bihar was Dr T C P Verma who was Professor and Head of Department Pathology at Patna Medical College. The first National Conference of IAPM was held in the year 1995 at PMCH, Patna. After a gap of several years BAPM was revived in the year 2014 by the successful organization of BAPCON on 8th and 9th Nov 2014 at Rajgir.
BAPCON 2025 would be organized at Katihar Medical College, Katihar from 14th of Feb to 16th of Feb, 2025. This would be the 18th Annual Conference of BAPM. The theme of the conference would be "The Paradigm shift in diagnostic medicine - Morphology to Molecular Pathology". The delegates attending the conference would be getting 12 credit hours from BMC.
